Termite Control in Noida

Quick answer

SKUAS treats termites in finished Noida houses, flats and offices by drilling small holes along the floor-wall junction and the plinth, injecting Envu Premise SC into the soil below and sealing each hole, as IS 6313 (Part 3) sets out. Buildings still at plinth stage are better served by a reticulation pipe system. The rate is given after a free inspection.

In Noida, termite calls usually come from two kinds of homes. Plotted houses in sectors such as 15, 19, 26 and 30 often still have their original wooden door frames, skirting and staircase panelling, and termites work up through the ground floor into them. In society flats along the Expressway and in Noida Extension, the first sign is usually a modular kitchen base or a built-in wardrobe that has gone soft at the bottom edge, most often on a ground or lower floor.

In a finished building the floor cannot be lifted, so the chemical has to be placed in the soil through drilled holes along the walls, the plinth and the woodwork that touches them. Most of our effort in a Noida home goes into finding where termites are getting in: a shared wall with the next plot, a crack along a floor joint, a planter box against an outside wall or a cable duct in the society basement. Once those entry points are mapped, the drilling plan for each room follows from them.

Signs of termites to check in Noida

Mud tubes

Thin tunnels of soil running up the plinth, walls, pillars or behind skirting. Subterranean termites build them to travel from the soil.

Hollow wood

Door frames, skirting or wardrobe bases that sound hollow when tapped, or crumble at the bottom edge.

Discarded wings

Small wings near windows, lights or door sills after warm days followed by rain. A swarm means an established colony is close by.

Pellets, not mud

Tiny, dry pellets under furniture or frames point to drywood termites, which are found mainly in coastal cities.

Blistered paint or tunnels

Bubbling paint on walls or fine tunnels in wood panelling and wiring battens.

Why termites are a problem in Noida

Swarms after the first monsoon showers

Many Noida residents first notice termites when winged swarmers gather around balcony lights on a humid evening after rain. IS 6313 (Part 3) describes swarming during the monsoon or post-monsoon period, after a few warm days followed by rain. A heap of shed wings on a window sill or in a stairwell means a mature colony is living close by, usually in the soil under or beside the building.

Parks and green belts beside every sector

Noida sectors are laid out around parks, green belts and tree-lined service roads. Unpaved soil, tree roots and fallen wood next to a boundary wall give subterranean termites a steady food source just a few metres from the house. Ground-floor rooms that face a park or green belt are where we most often find mud tubes on the plinth and behind skirting.

Wooden fit-outs in apartments

Flats in Noida societies are often handed over bare and then fitted with modular kitchens, wardrobes, wall panelling and wooden flooring. Termites that enter through a floor joint or a wall crack can reach this woodwork without being seen, because it is fixed tight against the wall. When we inspect a flat, we pull out kitchen drawers and open wardrobe bases to check the hidden side.

Subterranean termites, the main threat

IS 6313 notes that about 220 termite species occur in India and that subterranean termites cause most damage to buildings. In neighbouring Delhi, research identifies Heterotermes indicola as the most important structural termite. Subterranean species nest in the soil and build mud tubes to reach wood above ground, which is why treatment in Noida concentrates on the soil under floors and along the foundation.

How we treat termites in an existing building

For a building that is already finished, the chemical has to reach the soil under the floor and along the foundation. We follow the method set out in IS 6313 (Part 3), the BIS code for treating existing buildings. This is commonly called drill-fill-seal.

  1. Inspection and mapping. We trace how far termites have spread and how they enter, checking floors, skirting, door frames, panelling, wiring battens and switchboards, and remove the mud tubes.
  2. Floor-wall junction. 12 mm holes are drilled at about 300 mm intervals along the junction of floor and walls, and along floor joints, deep enough to reach the soil. Each hole takes termiticide emulsion until it stops absorbing, up to 1 litre, and is then sealed.
  3. Masonry at plinth level. Walls are drilled at a downward angle of about 45 degrees, around 300 mm apart, so the masonry and the soil under it are soaked, then the holes are sealed.
  4. Woodwork in contact with walls and floors. Door and window frames are treated through 6 mm holes drilled at about 45 degrees, with up to half a litre per hole. Badly damaged timber is replaced.
  5. Soil outside the building. Where the soil along the foundation is open, it is treated along the outside walls. Where there is a concrete apron, it is drilled about 300 mm apart and treated through the holes.
  6. Sealing and handover. Holes are sealed and the area cleaned. You get a treatment record and the SKUAS written service warranty for your property.

We use Envu Premise SC (imidacloprid 30.5% SC), one of the termiticides listed by CIB&RC for building termite control, mixed at the dilution on its label. It is odourless and non-repellent, so termites carry it back to the colony.

Why we use Premise SC

Buildings we treat in Noida

Plotted sector houses

Ground-floor rooms, staircase woodwork, door frames and the plinth along shared walls, treated room by room after a full inspection.

Society flats

Kitchen and wardrobe walls, door frames and floor joints inside the flat, with tower-level treatment discussed with the RWA where needed.

Villas and penthouses

Larger floor areas with wooden flooring, home libraries and built-in storage, mapped and drilled in sections so the family can keep using the house.

Offices in Sector 62, 63 and Phase 2

Office floors, record rooms, stores with cartons and pallets, and server rooms where termites can move along cable trays and false flooring.

Noida jobs are scheduled from our New Delhi head office on Okhla Road. Most flats are finished in a single visit, while plotted houses and villas may need a second day depending on the number of rooms and the amount of woodwork. For society flats, tell the facility office in advance so our team and equipment are let in without delay.

Frequently asked questions

We do not publish a fixed price, because no two Noida homes need the same work. The rate depends on the plinth or floor area, the number of rooms and walls to be drilled, how far the damage has spread and how much woodwork needs treatment. After a free inspection we give you a written rate for your flat or house.
We inspect and map the infestation, then drill small holes along the floor-wall junction, floor joints and plinth, inject Envu Premise SC into the soil below, treat woodwork touching the walls, and seal every hole. The full step-by-step method, as laid out in IS 6313 (Part 3), is shown above on this page.
The treated soil under and around your home does not stay effective indefinitely, because the barrier weakens over time. SKUAS gives a written service warranty, and its period depends on the treatment done and the property. If you see fresh mud tubes, wings or hollow wood later, call us for an inspection.
No. We work one room at a time, and only the room being drilled needs to be clear of people for a short while. The holes are small and are sealed after injection, and we clean up the drilling dust. Envu Premise SC is odourless, so there is no lingering smell in the flat.
Not always. If termites are limited to one flat, treating that flat's floor-wall junctions and woodwork is usually enough. If several ground and lower-floor flats report mud tubes, or they appear in the basement and shafts, a tower-level inspection with the facility team makes more sense. We can inspect both and advise.
