Termite Control in Faridabad

Quick answer

SKUAS treats termites in finished Faridabad buildings, from NIT houses to sector homes and Greater Faridabad flats, by drilling at the floor-wall junction and plinth, injecting Envu Premise SC into the soil and sealing the holes, as IS 6313 (Part 3) describes. New construction should be fitted with reticulation instead. We share the rate after a free inspection.

Faridabad's older housing tells you a lot about where termites hide. In NIT, one of the oldest parts of the city, and in early sectors such as 7, 9, 14, 15 and 16, many houses have been extended floor by floor over the years, with new rooms built against original walls and old wooden frames kept in place. The joints between old and new masonry give termites easy routes from the soil into the house.

Newer parts of the city, including Greater Faridabad across the Agra Canal and the stretch toward Ballabhgarh, are mostly group housing and builder floors. There, termites tend to appear in a flat's kitchen or wardrobe, or in ground-floor shops. Factories along Mathura Road and in the industrial sectors see termites in stores, record rooms and wooden packing material. Our drilling plan for each of these is set only after mapping where the termites are entering.

Signs of termites to check in Faridabad

Mud tubes

Thin tunnels of soil running up the plinth, walls, pillars or behind skirting. Subterranean termites build them to travel from the soil.

Hollow wood

Door frames, skirting or wardrobe bases that sound hollow when tapped, or crumble at the bottom edge.

Discarded wings

Small wings near windows, lights or door sills after warm days followed by rain. A swarm means an established colony is close by.

Pellets, not mud

Tiny, dry pellets under furniture or frames point to drywood termites, which are found mainly in coastal cities.

Blistered paint or tunnels

Bubbling paint on walls or fine tunnels in wood panelling and wiring battens.

Why termites are a problem in Faridabad

Extensions built onto old walls

Many older Faridabad houses have rooms, floors and staircases that were added at different times. Where new masonry meets old, the joint often cracks, and termites use these cracks to climb from the plinth into frames and cupboards. During inspection we pay close attention to these joints, because a gap missed here can let termites go around the treated floor edge.

The Aravalli side and dry summers

The Surajkund side of Faridabad runs along the Aravalli hills, with drier, more open ground, and summers across the city are hot. In the dry months subterranean termites stay deeper and head for damp spots such as bathroom walls, kitchen sinks and areas under water tanks. That is why a damp wall in a Faridabad house is one of the first places we inspect.

Rain brings out winged swarms

Termite swarms in Faridabad come mostly in the monsoon and post-monsoon period, after a few warm days followed by rain. Winged termites fly out of mature colonies, shed their wings and try to start new ones. Wings collected near doors, windows or lights inside the house indicate an established colony nearby, and that is the right time to book an inspection.

Soil-dwelling termites cause the damage

IS 6313 (Part 3) states that subterranean termites cause most of the damage to buildings in India. Coptotermes heimi, found across the country, is a known pest of household woodwork and furniture. Termites of this kind nest in the soil and reach wood through mud tubes, so in Faridabad the soil under the floor and along the plinth is where the treatment has to go.

How we treat termites in an existing building

For a building that is already finished, the chemical has to reach the soil under the floor and along the foundation. We follow the method set out in IS 6313 (Part 3), the BIS code for treating existing buildings. This is commonly called drill-fill-seal.

  1. Inspection and mapping. We trace how far termites have spread and how they enter, checking floors, skirting, door frames, panelling, wiring battens and switchboards, and remove the mud tubes.
  2. Floor-wall junction. 12 mm holes are drilled at about 300 mm intervals along the junction of floor and walls, and along floor joints, deep enough to reach the soil. Each hole takes termiticide emulsion until it stops absorbing, up to 1 litre, and is then sealed.
  3. Masonry at plinth level. Walls are drilled at a downward angle of about 45 degrees, around 300 mm apart, so the masonry and the soil under it are soaked, then the holes are sealed.
  4. Woodwork in contact with walls and floors. Door and window frames are treated through 6 mm holes drilled at about 45 degrees, with up to half a litre per hole. Badly damaged timber is replaced.
  5. Soil outside the building. Where the soil along the foundation is open, it is treated along the outside walls. Where there is a concrete apron, it is drilled about 300 mm apart and treated through the holes.
  6. Sealing and handover. Holes are sealed and the area cleaned. You get a treatment record and the SKUAS written service warranty for your property.

We use Envu Premise SC (imidacloprid 30.5% SC), one of the termiticides listed by CIB&RC for building termite control, mixed at the dilution on its label. It is odourless and non-repellent, so termites carry it back to the colony.

Why we use Premise SC

Buildings we treat in Faridabad

Houses in NIT and the old sectors

Original door frames, wooden cupboards, staircases and the joints where later extensions meet old walls, drilled room by room.

Greater Faridabad flats

Kitchen, wardrobe and bedroom walls in the flat, with lower-floor units and common shafts checked when neighbours report the same signs.

Builder floors and kothis

The shared plinth, stilt or ground-floor rooms and the staircase, planned with all owners so treatment does not stop at one floor.

Factories along Mathura Road

Offices, stores, record rooms and packing areas where wooden pallets, cartons and stored paper draw termites up from the ground.

Faridabad is served from our New Delhi head office on Okhla Road, which is a short run down Mathura Road past the Badarpur border. Factory and warehouse jobs can be planned for a weekly off day or between shifts, so production areas are not disturbed while drilling is under way.

Frequently asked questions

We do not use a fixed price. The rate depends on the plinth or floor area, how many rooms and walls need drilling, how far the damage has spread and how much woodwork must be treated, including old frames and cupboards. After a free inspection you receive a written rate for your house, flat or unit.
We inspect and mark the affected areas, drill small holes along the floor-wall junction and plinth, inject Envu Premise SC so it reaches the soil, treat frames and cupboards in contact with walls, and seal the holes. This follows IS 6313 (Part 3), and every step is described in the method section on this page.
The barrier of treated soil weakens gradually, so a single treatment should not be seen as a fix for the whole life of the house. SKUAS gives a written service warranty, with a period that depends on the work done and the property. When signs reappear, book an inspection before deciding on another treatment.
There is some drilling noise, but the holes are small and each one is sealed after the chemical goes in. We cover nearby furniture and vacuum the dust. Only the room being drilled is kept clear for a short time, so you do not need to move out, and Premise SC is odourless.
Frames with light damage can usually be treated where they are, through holes drilled at the joint between the wood and the wall. Timber that sounds hollow or crumbles when pressed has to be replaced, and the new wood should be treated too. During the inspection we tell you which frames can be kept and which cannot.
